Detailed Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you warmly with a signboard bearing your tour name or group. You will then be comfortably transferred to your designated hotel in a private tourist vehicle. After checking in, you are free to relax and recover from your journey. If energy permits, you may explore the lively streets of Thamel, Kathmandu’s well-known tourist district, which offers a rich array of local shops, cafes, and cultural ambiance.

Today is primarily reserved for completing the necessary documentation for your Tibet travel permit and visa application. Once the formalities are underway, you’ll proceed on a half-day guided spiritual and cultural sightseeing tour. This includes a visit to Pharping, a revered site in Buddhist tradition, followed by a trip to the Dakshinkali Temple, where worshippers pay respects to Goddess Kali. The day concludes with a visit to the ancient Gorakhnath Cave, significant to both Hindu and Buddhist followers. This tour provides a deeper understanding of Nepal's intertwined religious heritage.

In the morning, you will visit the visa application center for your biometric appointment, a key step in processing your Tibet group visa. Later in the day, enjoy a cultural tour that begins at the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most venerated Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. You’ll then visit the towering and majestic Bouddhanath Stupa, a central place of pilgrimage for Buddhists around the world. The final stop is at Budhanilkantha Temple, where a giant stone statue of Lord Vishnu lies peacefully on a bed of serpents in a pond, symbolizing cosmic balance.

Today, we will collect your Tibet visa. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may opt to relax at your hotel, explore the serene Garden of Dreams, or venture into local marketplaces such as Asan Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. For those interested in more culture, an optional tour of additional UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley is also available.

This day is allocated for final preparations before you begin your spiritual adventure to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. In the afternoon, a pre-trip meeting will be conducted at your hotel or the local tour office. Here, you’ll meet your guides, ask any last-minute questions, and go over important details regarding the route, weather, clothing, and altitude. You can also use this day for final packing and shopping for any remaining supplies in Thamel, especially from shops specializing in trekking gear.

Your overland journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Timure, located near the Nepal-Tibet border. The route, which takes 6 to 8 hours, offers stunning views of the Trishuli River, lush green hills, and quaint Nepalese villages with terraced farmland. You’ll pass through Syabrubesi, a gateway to several trekking routes, before reaching Timure where you will rest overnight in a local guesthouse.

After breakfast, you’ll proceed to the Rasuwagadhi border. After completing the Nepal and Chinese immigration formalities, you will officially enter Tibet. A scenic drive then takes you through the beginning of the Tibetan Plateau to the town of Kyirong, where you'll spend the night. This region offers a first taste of Tibetan culture, architecture, and high-altitude landscapes

Today’s drive from Kyirong to Saga is one of the most visually stunning. You’ll travel over the Kyirong High Pass, offering panoramic views of snow-capped mountains including Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, and the Langtang Range. On the way, you will pass the serene Peiku Tso Lake and cross the mighty Brahmaputra River, known locally as Yarlung Tsangpo. The changing landscapes—from alpine forest to dry desert plains—reveal the raw beauty of Tibet.

Leaving Saga, you head toward the sacred Lake Mansarovar, crossing the high-altitude Mayum-La Pass (5,211 meters). As you approach the lake, the first glimpses of Mount Kailash appear in the distance. On arrival, you’ll visit Chiu Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the lake. The peaceful setting, combined with the spiritual energy of the lake, offers a truly moving experience.

Early in the morning, you will take part in a holy bath and perform religious rituals on the banks of Lake Mansarovar, believed to cleanse sins and purify the soul. After some peaceful time at the lake, you will drive to Darchen, the base town for the Mount Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation trek). You’ll spend the rest of the day acclimatizing and preparing for the upcoming trek.

Today marks the beginning of your spiritual trek. You’ll drive to Yama Dwar, the gateway to the Mount Kailash Kora, and begin trekking toward Diraphuk. This portion of the trek takes you through rocky valleys, along sacred rivers, and right in front of the north face of Mount Kailash, offering one of the most revered views in the world.

This is the most challenging and spiritually important day of the journey. You’ll trek from Diraphuk to Zuthulphuk, crossing Dolma La Pass at 5,630 meters. Along the way, stop at Gauri Kund, a sacred lake connected to Goddess Parvati. The steep descent after the pass requires caution but rewards you with incredible scenery and spiritual fulfillment.

You’ll complete the final part of your Parikrama today, trekking back to Darchen, where a vehicle will pick you up for the return drive to Saga or Dongba. This day marks the completion of the holy Kailash circuit—a moment of deep personal and spiritual achievement.

Retrace your journey across the Tibetan landscape back to Kyirong, where you will rest and prepare to cross back into Nepal. This is a relaxing day of travel and reflection.

You’ll cross the Rasuwagadhi border back into Nepal and drive to Kathmandu, arriving in the evening. To celebrate the successful completion of your journey, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant, with local music and cultural performances.

On your final day, our team will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. You depart not just from Nepal, but from an unforgettable spiritual journey that has taken you through the heart of the Himalayas, leaving you with lifelong memories and renewed spiritual energy.
