Bali Honeymoon Packages & Cost: What a Realistic Budget Looks Like
There is no single price for a Bali honeymoon. The total cost depends on how long you stay, the type of accommodation you choose, what you book privately, and what is included in your package.
It is also important to remember that an advertised honeymoon package price may not be your total trip cost. Flights, some meals, activities, entry fees, and personal expenses may not be included.
This guide breaks down what a realistic Bali honeymoon can cost for two, where the money usually goes, what affects the budget most, and how to compare package prices properly. Since international airfare varies widely depending on where you are flying from, we will look at Bali ground costs separately and explain how flights fit into the overall budget.
How Much Does a Bali Honeymoon Cost for Two?

For a 7-night Bali honeymoon for two, excluding international flights, a realistic planning budget is around US$1,500–$2,500 for a budget-friendly trip, US$2,800–$4,500 for a comfortable mid-range honeymoon, and US$6,000 or more for a luxury trip.
The range is wide because accommodation alone can vary from affordable boutique hotels and villas to high-end private-pool resorts.
|
Budget level |
Approx. 7-night cost for two |
What that budget can realistically support |
|
Budget-friendly |
US$1,500–$2,500 |
Good-value hotels or villas, a mix of local and restaurant dining, simple transport and a few paid activities |
|
Mid-range |
US$2,800–$4,500 |
Higher-quality accommodation, some private-pool options, private transfers or driver days, good restaurants, spa time and several activities |
|
Luxury |
US$6,000–$10,000+ |
High-end resorts or private-pool villas, private transport, premium dining, spa treatments and more private or higher-cost experiences |
Note: These are planning ranges for two people and do not include international flights. They are not package quotes. Travel dates, accommodation choices and the number of private experiences you add can change the final cost considerably.
International airfare is best added separately. Flight prices can vary greatly depending on whether you are travelling from Australia, Southeast Asia, Europe or North America, so using one fixed airfare figure would give a misleading total.
Next, let’s look at where that money actually goes.
Where Does Your Bali Honeymoon Budget Actually Go?
The total becomes easier to plan when you break it into separate costs. For most couples, accommodation is the biggest variable, while food, transport and activities depend more on how you choose to travel each day.
Accommodation

Accommodation can take up a large part of your honeymoon budget, especially if you choose a private-pool villa or luxury resort instead of a decent hotel.
Rates can vary depending on where you stay in Bali as well as the room category you choose. A standard room, suite and private-pool villa at the same property can have very different rates.
Food and Drinks

Food costs can stay fairly reasonable if you mix local restaurants and cafés with a few nicer meals. Spending rises quickly if most of your meals are at resorts, beach clubs or higher-end restaurants.
For two people, around US$40–$100 per day can cover a mixed approach, while regular fine dining and resort meals can cost considerably more.
Transfers and Getting Around Bali

Transport costs depend largely on how much private transport you use.
You may need to budget for airport transfers, journeys between different areas and transport on sightseeing days. Hiring a private car and driver is common for full sightseeing days, with rates often around US$50–$70 for 8–10 hours, depending on the route, booking method and what is included.
Changing hotels several times, taking long sightseeing trips or using private transport regularly will naturally increase this part of the budget.
Activities and Honeymoon Extras

Activities are one of the most flexible parts of a Bali honeymoon budget.
If you mainly visit temples, beaches and other simple attractions, you may spend relatively little. Adding private tours, spa treatments or other romantic things to do in Bali can increase the total quickly.
A reasonable allowance for activities and spa experiences for two can be around US$300–$600 or more for a week, with private or luxury experiences costing considerably more.
Entry Fees, Tourist Charges and Other Easy-to-Miss Costs
Small charges may not make up a large part of your honeymoon budget, but they are still worth including.
Foreign visitors to Bali currently pay a one-time tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person, subject to applicable exemptions.
Visa costs are separate and depend on your nationality and the type of entry permission you qualify for. Travelers who are eligible for Indonesia's Visa on Arrival currently pay IDR 500,000 per person for a 30-day stay.
Because visa rules are not the same for everyone, check the current Indonesian immigration requirements for your passport rather than automatically adding this cost to your budget.
You should also leave some room for attraction entrance fees, travel insurance, tips where appropriate and personal spending. None of these costs is likely to change the budget on its own, but together they can make a noticeable difference to what you actually spend.
What Makes One Bali Honeymoon Much More Expensive Than Another?
Two couples can stay in Bali for the same number of nights and still spend very different amounts. The biggest differences usually come from trip length, accommodation, travel dates, private arrangements, and the number of extras you add.
Trip Length
Every extra night adds more than just another hotel stay. It also means another day of meals, transport and possibly activities.
So extending a honeymoon from seven nights to ten does not simply mean paying for three more nights of accommodation. Several parts of the budget increase at the same time.
Accommodation Level and Privacy
Two couples staying for the same number of nights can have very different accommodation costs depending on the room category and level of privacy. Moving from a standard room to a suite, private-pool villa or high-end resort can increase the budget considerably.
Travel Dates
The same hotel or villa can cost more during busy periods than at quieter times of year.
Christmas and New Year, school holidays and other high-demand periods can push accommodation prices up, while quieter travel dates may offer better value.
That does not mean you should choose your honeymoon dates based only on price. Weather, work schedules and the type of trip you want still matter. But from a budgeting point of view, your travel dates can change the price even when the hotel and itinerary stay exactly the same.
How Much You Arrange Privately
Private drivers, transfers and tours generally cost more than shared or simpler alternatives. The more of your honeymoon you arrange privately, the more this can increase the overall cost.
How Many Honeymoon Extras You Add
Spa treatments, private dinners, photography, decorations and other honeymoon extras may seem small individually, but several additions across the trip can noticeably increase the total.
What Does a Bali Honeymoon Package Price Actually Include?
A Bali honeymoon package price is only useful when you know exactly what is included.
Two packages of the same length can have very different prices because one may cover little more than accommodation and transfers, while another includes transport, sightseeing, activities and honeymoon experiences.
Depending on the package, the price may include:
-
accommodation
-
airport and inter-area transfers
-
breakfast or selected meals
-
sightseeing and local transport
-
attraction tickets
-
selected activities, spa treatments or couple experiences
-
romantic room or pool setups
-
local booking support
It is just as important to check what is not included. International flights, most lunches and dinners, visa or entry costs, travel insurance, optional activities and personal spending may still need to be paid separately.
What Does “All-Inclusive” Mean for a Bali Honeymoon?
Do not assume that “all-inclusive” means the same thing in every Bali honeymoon package.
One package may use the term for accommodation, breakfast, transport and sightseeing. Another may also include meals and romantic experiences, while flights or optional activities remain separate.
Rather than relying on the label, check the written inclusions and exclusions. Pay particular attention to the exact room or villa type, meals, transfers, sightseeing, attraction fees, activities and flights.
The useful figure is not simply the advertised package price. It is what the package covers and what you will still need to pay before and during the trip.

How to Compare Two Bali Honeymoon Package Quotes Fairly
One of the easiest mistakes when comparing Bali honeymoon packages is looking only at the headline price.
A cheaper quote may include fewer nights, a lower room category, shared transport or fewer activities. A more expensive package may already cover costs you would otherwise need to pay separately.
Before deciding which offers better value, compare both on the same basis.

The exact room type deserves particular attention. Two packages may both advertise the same luxury resort, but one may include a standard room while the other includes a private-pool villa. The hotel name alone does not mean the two offers are equal.
The same applies to sightseeing. A package with private tours, entrance fees and a dedicated vehicle is not directly comparable with one that lists similar places but leaves transport or tickets outside the price.
Once you know what each package includes, add the likely extra costs to both quotes:
package price + expected extras = realistic package cost
This does not mean the more expensive package is automatically better value. It simply allows you to compare what you are actually getting rather than two headline prices that may cover very different trips.
DIY or Honeymoon Package: Which Gives Better Value?
A DIY honeymoon is not always cheaper, and a package is not always better value. The right choice depends on what is included, how much planning you want to do yourself and how closely the two options match.
The fairest comparison is not between a package and the cheapest DIY trip you can create. It is between a package and the cost of arranging a similar honeymoon yourself.
DIY May Suit You Better If…
Booking everything yourself can make sense if you:
-
enjoy researching hotels, transport and activities
-
want full control over each booking
-
are comfortable arranging transfers between different parts of Bali
-
prefer the flexibility to change plans
-
do not mind spending time comparing prices and coordinating different bookings
The tradeoff is that you are responsible for managing those separate bookings and dealing with any changes yourself.
A Package May Suit You Better If…
A honeymoon package can make more sense if you want accommodation, transfers and selected experiences arranged together.
It may be particularly useful if:
-
you are staying in several areas
-
private transfers and sightseeing are important to you
-
you would rather make fewer separate bookings
-
you want parts of the itinerary arranged in advance
-
having one point of support is valuable to you
A package still needs to match the honeymoon you actually want. Convenience has value, but it does not make a poorly matched package a good deal.
So, What Should You Budget for a Bali Honeymoon?
The budget ranges at the beginning of this guide are useful starting points, but they are not spending targets.
Build your budget around the trip you actually want. Add the accommodation, meals, transport, activities, entry costs and personal spending you expect, then include international flights separately.
If you are considering a package, calculate what is already covered and what you would still need to pay for yourself. That will give you a much more realistic total than the advertised package price alone.
