Ba Na Hills & the Golden Bridge: Full Visitor Guide
If the Golden Bridge is the main reason you are considering Ba Na Hills, there is one important thing to know before planning your visit: the Golden Bridge is part of the larger Sun World Ba Na Hills complex, not a separate roadside attraction.
To visit the bridge, you need to travel outside central Da Nang, take a cable car up the mountain, and buy admission to Ba Na Hills. Once there, you can also explore the French Village, Fantasy Park, gardens, and other attractions around the complex.
For some travelers, that makes Ba Na Hills worth spending most of a day at. For others who mainly want to see the Golden Bridge, the time and ticket cost may be harder to justify.
This guide explains what a visit involves, how to get there, what your ticket includes, and how much time you should allow.
What Are You Actually Visiting at Ba Na Hills?

Ba Na Hills is a large mountaintop tourism and entertainment complex around 25 km southwest of central Da Nang. The Golden Bridge is one of its best-known attractions, but it is only one part of the site.
You reach the main visitor areas by cable car. Once on the mountain, you can visit the Golden Bridge, French Village, Fantasy Park, Le Jardin D'Amour gardens, Moon Castle, and several other sightseeing and entertainment areas. Some parts of the complex are connected by additional cable-car routes.
This is worth knowing if you first discovered Ba Na Hills through photos of the Golden Bridge. You are not simply paying to walk across the bridge. Your ticket gives you access to a much larger attraction.
Whether the rest of the complex interests you will help determine how long you should stay.
How Does a Ba Na Hills Visit Actually Work?
Your visit starts at the entrance at the bottom of the mountain, not at the Golden Bridge itself.
After entering with your ticket, you take a cable car up into the complex. From there, you can visit the Golden Bridge and move between other areas depending on your interests.
Ba Na Hills is spread across different levels, so the Golden Bridge, French Village, and other attractions are not all grouped together in one small space. Moving between them, waiting for cable cars and finding your way around can take time.
Ba Na Hills Tickets: What Is Included and What Costs Extra?
As of September 2026, Sun World lists the standard round-trip cable-car ticket for visitors from outside the local area at:
- Adults: VND 1,000,000
- Seniors over 70: VND 800,000
- Children from 1m to 1.4m tall: VND 800,000
- Children under 1m: free
The standard ticket includes the round-trip cable car and access to major areas such as the Golden Bridge, French Village, Fantasy Park, Moon Castle, and other included attractions.
However, not everything inside Ba Na Hills is covered by the standard ticket. Sun World currently lists separate charges for some experiences, including the Debay Wine Cellar, the Light Interaction Area, the alpine coaster or toboggan, climbing activities, and certain games and entertainment.
There are also ticket packages that include meals and other benefits. Compare these with the standard ticket based on what you actually plan to use.
Ticket prices, promotions, and operating arrangements can change, so check the current options on the official Sun World Ba Na Hills website before buying.
How to Get to Ba Na Hills from Da Nang
Ba Na Hills is outside central Da Nang, so transport should be part of your day plan.
Private Car or Taxi
A private car or taxi gives you the most control over when you arrive and leave.
It is a practical option for an early start or if you prefer not to plan your day around shuttle and tour schedules.
If you arrange a round trip with a driver, confirm the full fare and return arrangement in advance rather than assuming the driver will wait for you.
Shuttle Bus
Sun World is currently piloting a free shuttle between Da Nang and Ba Na Hills until December 31, 2026, with designated pickup points in central and coastal Da Nang.
Advance registration is recommended, and seats are limited.
The shuttle can reduce transport costs, but fixed departure and return times give you less flexibility than arranging your own transport.
Check the current route and timetable before relying on the service.
Organized Tour
An organized tour can be useful if you prefer having transport, admission, and the day's logistics arranged together.
The main limitation is having less control over the schedule. Tours generally determine when you arrive, how long you stay, and how the day is structured.
Before booking day tours or multi-day excursions across regions, make sure your immigration paperwork is set by checking the latest Vietnam visa and entry requirements.
You can also visit Ba Na Hills from Hoi An. However, the longer road journey means you should consider the total length of the excursion, not just the hours spent inside the complex.
How Much Time Do You Really Need at Ba Na Hills?
There is no single ideal amount of time to spend at Ba Na Hills.
It mainly depends on whether you only want to see the Golden Bridge or want to experience the wider complex.
If the Golden Bridge Is Your Main Priority
A shorter, more focused visit can work if the bridge and cable-car journey are the main reasons you are going.
You can prioritize the Golden Bridge, spend some time nearby, and perhaps visit one or two other attractions before heading back down.
However, you still need to allow time for the drive from Da Nang, entering the complex, cable-car journeys, and possible queues, even if you do not plan to explore much beyond the bridge.
If your Central Vietnam itinerary is short, consider whether seeing the bridge is important enough to justify the overall time involved.
If you are still mapping out your broader travel dates, consult our guide on the best time to visit Vietnam to understand how Central Vietnam’s weather shifts relative to the North and South.
If You Want to Experience the Wider Ba Na Hills Complex
Allow much more time to explore the French Village, Fantasy Park, gardens, and entertainment areas; have a meal; or simply walk around without rushing.
In that case, it makes more sense to treat Ba Na Hills as one of the main activities of your day.
This is why describing it simply as a “half-day” or “full-day” attraction can be misleading. What matters more is what you plan to do once you get there.
For the Golden Bridge and cable car alone, a focused visit may be enough. If several parts of the complex interest you, give yourself most of the day rather than trying to fit Ba Na Hills between unrelated sightseeing stops.
When Should You Visit the Golden Bridge?
Earlier in the day is generally the better option if you are trying to avoid heavier crowds.
You may have some time before larger numbers of day visitors and tour groups move through the complex, although a quiet or empty Golden Bridge is never guaranteed.
Weather is a separate issue.
Ba Na Hills sits more than 1,400 meters above sea level, so clouds, mist, and rain can affect visibility even when conditions in Da Nang look different.
For the best chance of clear views, check the forecast close to your visit. Still, mountain weather can change quickly, so no particular time of day guarantees perfect visibility.
Weather can also affect outdoor activities and operating hours. Check the day's latest information before travelling.
What Else Is Worth Your Time Beyond the Golden Bridge?

The rest of Ba Na Hills offers a mix of themed architecture, rides, gardens, and entertainment. You do not need to see everything, so choose the areas that actually interest you.
French Village
The French Village is one of the main areas beyond the Golden Bridge. It has European-inspired buildings, squares, restaurants, and entertainment.
It can be enjoyable if you like large themed spaces or simply want somewhere to walk around after seeing the bridge.
However, do not mistake it for a preserved historical French town. It is a purpose-built part of the modern tourism complex.
Fantasy Park
Fantasy Park offers indoor rides and entertainment.
It is more relevant for families with children or travelers who enjoy amusement-style attractions.
If rides and games are not your thing, there is no need to spend time there simply because much of it is included with admission.
Gardens and Scenic Areas
Le Jardin D'Amour and other landscaped areas offer a slower alternative to the busier entertainment sections of Ba Na Hills.
They are worth considering if you have plenty of time, but travelers making a shorter visit do not need to work through every included attraction.
Shows, festivals, and individual attractions can also change over time, so check the current program if there is something specific you want to see.
Is Ba Na Hills Worth Visiting?
Ba Na Hills makes the most sense if the Golden Bridge is genuinely important to you and at least some of the wider complex also interests you.
It can also work well for families or groups where different people want different things from the day.
You may want to think more carefully about including Ba Na Hills if you have very limited time in Central Vietnam, prefer local cultural experiences or natural landscapes, dislike heavily developed tourist attractions, or are mainly interested in spending a few minutes on the Golden Bridge.
The question is not only whether the current VND 1,000,000 adult ticket feels worth the price. Ba Na Hills will also take up a significant part of your day.
If the wider experience appeals to you, give yourself enough time to enjoy it rather than rushing through. If the Golden Bridge is the only part you really want to see, weigh the ticket cost and time involved against what else you could do that day before deciding.
